Helping Families Protect & Pass On Legacies

Estate Planning

At Breza Law, we represent individuals and businesses in creating and maintaining their estate and business succession plans. We also assist clients with special needs family members. From crafting estate plans to administering estates and trusts, we handle everything from cradle to grave and beyond, helping beneficiaries manage the transfer of assets. Some of the types of work we do:

Estate Planning

In our estate planning practice, we assist clients in developing and maintaining their estate plans. We prepare the appropriate documents, which may include wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advanced medical directives, and letters of instruction. We also collaborate with our clients’ other professionals to assess tax issues and address any family dynamics that might arise.

Estate Administration

Estate administration can include probate and the preparation of estate tax returns. We help Personal Representatives (those responsible for administering estates) and beneficiaries navigate the process. Whether the administration is simple or complex, we guide clients on tax and funding issues. Additionally, we assist with the processing of non-probate assets and title transfers.

Special Needs Planning & Guardianships

We assist clients in protecting family members with special needs. Whether through the creation and administration of special needs trusts or obtaining guardianships for vulnerable family members, we collaborate with families, care providers, and administrative agencies to safeguard our clients and their benefits.

Estate and Trust Litigation

While we aim to protect our clients from litigation, it is sometimes necessary to defend their rights. We handle both probate and trust litigation.

Business Succession Planning

We work with our business clients to integrate their business needs with their estate plans. We assist in forming appropriate entities to save taxes and protect assets. Additionally, we advise clients on transitioning their businesses to preserve their value and prepare the necessary documents to support their needs.

Pre & Post-Nuptial Agreements

We work with families to proactively protect against future litigation by establishing agreements in advance. These agreements may address how to keep certain assets separated to meet everyone’s objectives. For instance, a prenuptial agreement may aim to care for loved ones from prior marriages or ensure inheritance follows the family’s desired path. The primary purpose of these agreements is to prevent future conflict and legal expenses.
